Susan Sabin, Executive Director

Susan Sabin was born and raised in Henry County. Many of Susan's relatives attended Spencer-Penn School throughout the years, and she has many memories of being on the campus. She is a graduate of Ferrum College. She and her husband now live in Horsepasture, just 5 minutes from Spencer-Penn with their two dogs and cat.  Susan is currently an active member of Charity League MHC and the President of the CHILL Partner Board. She has been with Spencer-Penn since 2017 and began as the Assistant Executive Director.

Bonnie Freeman, Bookkeeper

Bonnie Freeman, Bookkeeper

Bonnie Freeman is a former student of Spencer-Penn School, and both of her sons also attended SPC. She now lives in Patrick Springs with her puppy. She has been with Spencer-Penn since 2008 and is now working part-time, giving her plenty of time to relax and enjoy some hobbies and her new pup, Tank! While Bonnie used to handle all the office duties, she now focuses on bookkeeping and working on special projects. On Music Night, you’ll see her serving up desserts or on the dance floor. It’s safe to say this place wouldn’t be the same without her, which is why she is only "semi-retired."

Sarah Bryant Lester, Administrative Assistant

Sarah Lester is the newest addition to the Spencer-Penn staff. Her family has a long history at Spencer-Penn, starting with her great-grandmother who taught 3rd grade at the school. Her grandmother also worked at Spencer-Penn in the office. Being a local meant spending most of her childhood at SP, since many of her family members attended the school and then participated in events when it became the Centre. Sarah married her husband Zach in 2017 and they currently live in Woolwine.

Linda Foley, Librarian

Linda Foley became part of the Spencer-Penn family in 2013 through a grant from the Southern Area Agency on Aging. Since then, Linda has shown herself to be a valuable team player in everything she does. Not only can you find Linda working in the library, but she also helps with rentals and our SPICE tutoring program, along with just pitching in whenever help is needed. When she isn't at Spencer-Penn, you can find Linda spending time with her children or grand-children or donating her time to help others.
