What’s Happening


Stay up to date on all of the great things happening here at the Centre. There are a variety of special classes you can register for that are offered monthly. We also have weekly classes. Come to get some exercise or give the kids a little play time. Walk-ins are welcome for weekly classes.

Be sure to check out our events. Music night is every second Friday of the month and we're always adding monthly events. We hope to see you soon!

  • Chair Aerobics

    Thursdays at 11:30 - Free The Wellness Coalition brings their Chair Aerobics to Spencer Penn. This has been a popular program for over 7 years. Chair aerobics is an excellent program for those who want to improve their strength and cardio but have physical restrictions. Work with bands and weights while sitting. Special Scheduled Classes

  • Beginner’s Crochet: Learn the Basics

    Join us April 28th at 9 a.m. for a beginner's crochet class. Amy Register will introduce the class to a variety of stitches and terms for beginners and those looking to expand their skills. Cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. All supplies will be provided. Call the Centre to register!

  • Clogging with Marla

    On Tuesdays, July 10, 17, 24, 2:00 to 3:00pm,  the Spencer-Penn Centre welcomes Marla Perry for clogging classes.  Marla is a dancer with the Old Dominion Cloggers.  She will teach the basic clogging steps needed to get you up on the floor and having fun.    Cost is $10/members and $15/non-members, ages 10 and up

  • “Up, Up and Away!”

    Summer Kid's Camps Each camp will have a mid-class snack.  Children may enroll in a morning and an afternoon class and if so, lunch will be provided.  If the 4:00 p.m. pick up time is difficult, we will also provide after class care until 6:00 p.m. A $5/class discount is for members of the Spencer-Penn Centre.  Membership is $10/member or Continue Reading

    Saturday, February 17, 9am to 1pm Learn the ins and outs of basket weaving at our featured basket making class. Creativity welcomed and encouraged. Make a beautiful basket to take home! Cost $25-$40 depending on the basket. .

  • Mary Jordan Family Fun Zone dedicated at Spencer-Penn

    The Spencer Penn Centre, in partnership with the United Way of Henry County & Martinsville, held a dedication ceremony Saturday for the Mary Jordan Family Fun Zone addition to the centre's library.
