Spencer-Penn Centre Photography Exhibit and Competition. In April, the Spencer-Penn Centre continues its photography exhibit and competition, which began in 2009. The event highlights the work of local amateur photographers in ten categories of competition: portraits, landscapes, still life, humor, children, digitally manipulated, animals, floral, human interest and Spencer-Penn Centre remembered. Black and white and color entries in the following categories will be judged separately: portraits, landscapes, children, animals, floral and human interest; one entry is allowed in each category per person. The work of experienced and beginner photographers will also be judged separately. Entries accepted at the Centre on Mar 30 and 31, 2:00-7:00pm; entry fee $1 per entry, maximum 10 entries per photographer. Entries will be judged on April 1 and on display throughout the month, daily from 9:00 to 5:00 and during special events at the Centre. Please refer to the competition rules for complete information.
Spencer-Penn Centre’s Pig Cookin’ Contest. Fri Apr 10 and Sat Apr 11. Contestants will start cooking at 9:00 Friday evening; food will be ready 11:00 Saturday morning. Prospective contestants, please see the entry form, and contact the Centre for more information. Cookers and craft vendors needed.
