Thursdays at 10:00am. Reminder: All our programs start at 10:00 unless otherwise noted. We break for refreshments around 11:00, and Chair Aerobics/Zumba Gold, provided by the Martinsville/Henry County Coalition for Health and Wellness, starts at 11:30. Anyone who is not interested in the aerobics can socialize or visit the library to check out a book or use the computer lab to check e-mail.

Sept 11: Sean Duff, Franklin County Extension Agent, will visit to talk about using cover crops in the home garden. Sean has been working experimentally with farmers in Franklin County to test ideas for gardening using less tilling and fertilizing for better crop production.

Craft & Collectible Fair. Sat Sept 20, 9:00am-5:00pm. After you visit the Spencer Community Fair and have some Brunswick stew, come next door to the Centre and look for that perfect gift. Lots of one of a kind items. Vendors needed. Contact the Centre now to reserve your space, inside or out.

Weave-In. Sat Sept 27, 7:45am-5:45pm. Registration fee of $18 includes a light breakfast, lunch and snacks. Preregistration by Thur Sept 11 required. Sign up early to make the basket of your choice.

Dinner Theater. Fri Oct 3 and Sat Oct 4, 6:00pm; Sun Oct 5, 2:00pm. Clue: The Musical, an interactive murder mystery based on the board game. Presented by the Patrick Henry Community College's Patriot Players. $30 (including dinner) on Friday and Saturday evening; $15 (including dessert) on Sunday afternoon. Book Discussion. Thur Oct 9, 3:30pm. The Spencer-Penn Book Club's October selection is Dinner at Mr. Jefferson's, by Charles Cerami. Subtitled "Three men, five great wines, and the evening that changed America," this book brings Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and Alexander Hamilton to Monticello to solve some of the critical issues effecting the foundation of our country.

Vera Bradley Bingo. Sat Nov 1; doors open at 6:00pm, games start at 7:00. $25 for bingo package: 20 games, 2 coveralls and 1 door prize. Concessions available.
